An Ancient Hinduism System of Energy Healing

An Ancient Hinduism System of Energy Healing

When reading books on spirituality, energy, and self-healing in the New Age literature section of the bookstore, you have probably encountered exotic-sounding terms like "chakra," "prana," "aura," and "tantra." What, though, is the actual story behind these strange vocabularies?

Do All Energy Healers Work the Same Way?

In Pranic healing, a traditional Hindu system of energy healing, the term "chakra" or "energy center" is used. Prana is a term for life force. Another term associated with Pranic healing is "aura." Along with our physical body, we also have an energy-based non-physical body called an aura. The seven layers of the aura that surrounds our bodies are said to represent the energy manifestations of a person's physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects. Understanding the color and thickness of an aura can provide insight into a person's health. Aura is correlated with six colors, which are then translated into six personalities. All of these colors exist in a person, but only one or two are more overt.

Blue – spiritual peacemaker

White – unconventional chameleon

Red – activist

Orange – creative communicator

Violet - psychical

Tantra is a different approach to energy healing, despite the odd association between sex and spirituality with which it is frequently associated. Its root is "tan," which means to spread out or increase. In Tantric writings on sex and spirituality, the idea of connection recurs frequently. Spirituality and sex are major components of healing. It is assumed that the orgasm, which cleanses the body and mind of accumulated impurities, can elevate the union of a man and woman to spiritual levels. Because they are negative energies, these impurities can also manifest as physical illnesses.

Reiki was developed in Japan, as opposed to the Hindu origins of Pranic and Tantric healings. It was rediscovered in the early 1900s, making it more recent than Pranic and Tantric healings. Reiki is an energy that has been manifested by a higher intelligence and is known as universal energy. Reiki practitioners learn how to access this energy to treat mental, emotional, and physical illnesses.

Although all three energy healing systems, Pranic, Tantra, and Reiki - use energy to heal, they use different kinds of energy - life energy, sexual energy, and universal energy, respectively.

Some of the key similarities between these three healing modalities include the notions of the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit, the connection of individuals to all living and nonliving things around them and to the universe, and how energy impacts physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Why Do Individuals Use Energy Healing?

Alternative healing modalities include Reiki, Tantra, and Pranic healing. How come more and more people are drawn to modern medicine in spite of its accessibility and availability? Here are a few potential explanations:

* Where modern medicine fell short, energy healing succeeded :

Many, if not most, people have experienced ailments and conditions that modern medical treatment has failed to cure for a variety of reasons that are both explicable and unexplainable. This claim might not be supported by research or data. However, in order to recover, both the dying patient's family and their family members would take the chance of using alternative treatments like herbal and organic remedies, faith healers, witch doctors, and New Age healing methods.

* People think that modern medicine is solitary :

A patient may feel alone and treated like a mere host of the disease because medical treatments frequently concentrate on the disease and its causative agent. The perception still exists even though recent advancements in hospital practice are gradually promoting the holistic treatment of a patient. In contrast to energy healing, the patient feels as though all facets of his health are being taken care of because energy and spirituality are so closely related.

* Energy healing is safer because it is noninvasive and natural :

For the majority of patients, repeated surgical procedures are physically and psychologically traumatic. Finding less stressful medical interventions is only a logical and alluring option for patients and their families. Going natural is also the way to go given the popularity of New Age religions.

* Using energy healing to reduce stress is effective :

Energy healing techniques often include meditation, which is an added benefit for people who are under a lot of stress. Furthermore, there is no need for expensive equipment, making it even more practical for present and future energy healing students.

The conflict between conventional medicine and alternative healing persists as both sides tout the advantages of their respective philosophies. However, the return to good health is what matters most in the end.
